Language deficiency and unemployed. Learn now, benefit later.
People who are at home without work due to the crisis and do not have sufficient command of the Dutch language can now invest in their future by improving their language level.
The corona crisis brings a lot of uncertainty. Contracts for many temporary and/or agency workers are not being renewed. Other employees have managed to keep their jobs in the first few months thanks to support measures, but are uncertain whether this will remain the case. There is a chance that some of these employees will also lose their jobs in the near future.
Labor market
According to Pieter Hasekamp of the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB), the situation on the labor market is much worse than the official figures suggest. The support measures are intended to preserve as many jobs as possible, yet thousands of people have lost their jobs since the corona crisis. And then there are the people who will still lose their jobs later on. As a result of the corona crisis, unemployment in the Netherlands has risen significantly.

Learning Dutch now ensures better job opportunities during and after the corona crisis. A nice added benefit is that it gives people a goal: they are working on their own development and their future.
Continue developing
