The Tel mee met Taal subsidy is final and can be applied for from January 1 to February 28, 2022.

The Tel mee met Taal subsidy is available for activities aimed at preventing and reducing low literacy. Insufficient mastery of the Dutch language is a major obstacle to participating in society. There are 1.3 million Dutch people between the ages of 16 and 65 whose level is below the final level of primary school.

Thanks to this subsidy, employers are supported in tackling Dutch language proficiency in the workplace. Employers can apply for subsidies for courses that lead to better language skills, numeracy, and/or digital skills. The courses are for both employees with Dutch as their mother tongue and non-native employees.

Language in the workplace – also online

With a language course in the workplace, employees can improve their Dutch language proficiency. Improving language skills has a positive effect on the quality of work, the productivity and employability of employees, and safety and mutual understanding on the work floor.
Good mastery of the Dutch language is relevant for everyone in the workforce.

TopTaal provides language training that increases language proficiency in the workplace. This involves reading and understanding instructions, speaking with colleagues, customers, and managers, as well as writing work handovers and emails.
Because every company and every position is different, we base our tailor-made training on the specific situation and learning goals of the employees concerned. In our training, the theory and practice of your employees' daily activities are integrated. Research shows that this is the most effective learning method.

For the time being, our language courses take place online. We use an online platform for this that serves as a digital classroom. An advantage of distance learning is that location is no longer a determining factor. Employees from multiple locations can attend classes in the same group.

What can we do for you?

TopTaal takes care of everything and applies for the subsidy on your behalf. The subsidy can be applied for between January 1 and February 28 and is allocated via a lottery. It is therefore important to start preparing for the registration now. Even during the Corona crisis.
Preparation for the subsidy application consists of an inventory of employees who qualify for the language course and a screening and intake via a digital screening tool. TopTaal takes care of the further administrative processing of the application.
