Job Market

TopTaal and the City of Amsterdam are organizing a job market for students. Various workshops, trial lessons, and information to be better prepared for the labor market.

On June 27, TopTaal, in collaboration with the City of Amsterdam, organized a Job Market in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The goal of the afternoon was to connect job-seeking students and organizations. In conversations with TopTaal students, it often emerges that many find the Dutch labor market difficult to navigate. Many students indicate that they want to work, but have trouble searching for and finding suitable vacancies. The Job Market was intended to bridge this gap and offer students extra support. Such an event also fits well with the vision of the Amsterdam municipality: Amsterdammers who cannot participate on their own must receive the help needed to participate as independently as possible in the city. The City of Amsterdam therefore provided the content for the program.

The Job Market was an interesting information fair, to which 20 different organizations were invited that offer support to non-native speakers in paid work, apprenticeships, and/or volunteer work. In addition to the information fair, there were various workshops that students could register for, such as: 'Job Application Tips', 'Learn to Present Yourself', and an 'Entrepreneurship' workshop. The workshops were well-attended and highly appreciated!

It was a successful afternoon attended by many TopTaal students. We hope to be able to organize such an event again next year!
